I vote for Yamaha for money's worth. Next Kawai, Young Chang, maybe Samick (because of warranty), and then Baldwin (top of the line only). Petrof is a very good piano, but prices have gone up in recent years. They are not cheap. Then comes Steinway- It is not worth the high price, and parts ordering and help from the factory is lousy. I have a young chang baby grand with a serial number of 116451 I have a young chang baby grand with a serial number of 116451 can you tell me what year it is? It is in extremely good condition it has one nick. Just curious if Young Chang serial numbers were similar across all models. I just found another model of baby grand with a 053xxxx prefix and the seller stated that his piano was made in 1989. If anyone can help pinpoint the details of this piano from it's serial number I'd sure appreciate it.

Young Chang manufactures pianos in several locations for distribution throughout the world. While Young Chang does build a large portion of their total production in Korea, (they also own and operate a large factory in Guangzhou, China with piano production that exceeded 100,000 units during 1999.) These pianos are sold throughout the world bearing the Young Chang name, but sold in the United States under the brand name Pramberger. There are several grand pianos with parts made in China.
